Synopsis:

The Financial Risk Institute (FinRisk) Young Professionals Forum (YPF) provides a platform for young risk professionals and aspirants to exchange knowledge about the latest issues facing the financial risk community.  FinRisk YPF focuses on the development of young risk professionals and offers opportunities to learn and network with risk professionals from regulatory agencies, academia and the private sector.  This first FinRisk Young Professional event will introduce perspectives from the life of a quant risk professional. The panel will discuss real-life encounters, experience and challenges with state-of-art quantitative risk tools and models of market risk, credit risk and systemic risk.  The panel will also discuss common problems with quantitative risk analysis like model suitability and missing data.  In addition, the panel will also share experience and provide advice to young professionals about career considerations as a quant in risk management.

  • Clifford Rossi, Professor of the Practice & Executive-in-Residence, University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business

  • Mikael Sundberg, Head, Risk Analytics at the World Bank
